On January 21, 2003, the University of Florida replaced the social security number with a UFID number as the identifier for all faculty, staff, students, and affiliates. Your UFID is an eight digit number assigned by the university, and is used as an identifier for all university business transactions.

What's My UFID?
You may use either of the following options to find out your UFID number:
- Look up your UFID using your social security number and date of birth.
- Look up your UFID with your GatorLink ID and password.

Unit programmers involved in translating identifiers (SSN, UFID, UUID) may choose to utilize mainframe-based API functions directly, or use Java, perl, C, C++, Visual Basic to support local systems.
