Students walking on campus

Student systems at UF are currently developed, maintained and operated by various offices across campus, including the Office of the University Registrar, University Financial Services, Office of Admissions, Student Financial Affairs, Academic Advising, Office of Institutional Planning & Research, Division of Continuing Education and the Graduate School.

Student systems include admissions, advising, registration, student records, room scheduling, student billing and financial aid for all UF academic programs -- undergraduate, graduate, professional, distance, continuing and executive education.

A project to implement student financial services as an integrated component of the myUFL system is underway. University Financial Services (UFS) fee system is 26 years old. UFS needs the ability to quickly adapt to complex fee structures and billing processes while providing improved services to University students. Integrating student financial services in myUFL allows UFS to continuously improve UF’s fee system so it remains innovative and flexible. The new system is expected to be operational for the Summer A/C term in 2008.

PeopleSoft Student Financials (PS-SF) Project

All student financial information controlled by University Financial Services (UFS) is moving from the University’s legacy main frame systems to PeopleSoft Student Financials (PS-SF). The Project Scope and the Project Brochure provide additional information about the PeopleSoft Student Financials module and the impact of this project on the University’s student systems.

What is PeopleSoft Student Financials?

Student Financials is the engine for managing and calculating student financial information, such as tuition, fees, receivables, billing, payment plans, financial aid disbursements and refunds. Student Financials is one of six modules that make up PeopleSoft’s Campus Solutions product. Other modules included in this product are Admissions, Campus Community, Records and Enrollment, Financial Aid and Contributor Relations.

Why are we implementing PeopleSoft’s Student Financials?

University Financial Services (UFS) current fee system is 26 years old. UFS needs the ability to quickly adapt to complex fee structures and billing processes. PS-SF allows UFS to continuously improve UF’s fee system so it remains innovative and flexible.

Are we going to implement other modules in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions?

In order for Student Financials to function, it must operate in conjunction with Campus Community and access data in the current student records system. Implementing Student Financials includes Campus Community along with interfaces to existing systems, including student records and financial aid. No other modules will be implemented at this time. Campus Community and the interface operate behind the scenes, so Student Financials is the only module to impact end-users.
