Bridges Advisory #94 – January 20, 2006
The University of Florida is committed to keeping you informed as we continue our transition to the new myUFL systems. To help you with the transition, each week you will receive a Bridges Advisory.
Excess vacation leave rolled to sick leave appears on paycheck leave summary. An employee who had an excess vacation leave balance after payroll processing for the pay period ending January 12 will see the reduction in vacation leave balance with corresponding increase to sick leave balance reflected on her/his paycheck leave summary. To view your paycheck, go to My Self Service, Payroll and Compensation, View Paycheck. The leave summary is near the bottom of the paycheck. Excess vacation hours are defined as those over 480 for Faculty and TEAMS and those over 240 for USPS after leave processing for the pay period ending January 12.
Please note that the My Self Service, Payroll and Compensation, View Leave History screen will not reflect the excess vacation rolled to sick leave until after leave processing for the pay period ending January 26. This is due to the View Leave History screen displaying balances as of the end of leave processing for the pay period ending January 12, but prior to the roll process being run.
If you have questions about your leave balances, please contact your departmental payroll processor.
FICA Alternative Plan implementation. UF is implementing a new retirement plan for certain types of OPS, seasonal, and temporary employees. This new retirement plan, called the FICA Alternative Plan, is administered by BENCOR Inc. and will be implemented on Friday, January 13. Eligible employees will be automatically enrolled or un-enrolled in this mandatory plan based on their salary–plan status during affected pay periods.
