Bridges Advisory #80 – October 07, 2005
The University of Florida is committed to keeping you informed as we continue our transition to the new myUFL systems. To help you with the transition, each week you will receive a Bridges Advisory.
BRIDGES MOVES TO NEW LOCATION AND OPEN LABS RESUME. Bridges relocated to the Johnny Walker Building at the University of Florida’s Eastside campus on Waldo Road. Please note the new street address and phone numbers on the Bridges Web site’s Contact Us page. The campus mailing address remains the same – PO Box 113359.
Bridges Open Labs resumed on Thursday, October 5. Lab sessions will continue to be held on Tuesday mornings (8:30 – 11:30) and Thursday afternoons (1:30 – 4:30). Use this map to locate the entrance to the building and please check in with the receptionist upon arrival.
COMPENSATION HISTORY IN MY SELF SERVICE NOW AVAILABLE FOR THOSE WITH MULTIPLE JOB ASSIGNMENTS. This past weekend, Bridges resolved a long standing problem with the compensation history in myUFL. All employees should now be able to view their prior compensation through My Self Service > Payroll and Compensation. This problem affected the small percentage of UF employees who have multiple, concurrent job assignments.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT IN myUFL NOW AVAILABLE FOR MANAGERS. As of Monday, October 3, anyone who has the UF_HR_MANAGER/DEPT_ADMIN role now has access to Training and Development in Manager Self Service. This added functionality provides department or college administrators the ability to enroll employees in training classes, view employees’ training summary, and monitor course enrollment status.
If you want to access this area but do not have the UF_HR_MANAGER/DEPT_ADMIN role, please have your Department Security Administrator (DSA) request the UF_EL_Manager role via the Access Request System (ARS).
Before getting started, we encourage you to review the new instruction guide called "Register Your Employees for Training."
USING THE PORTAL FOR PUBLICIZING EVENTS. The myUFL portal’s sign on page (http://my.ufl.edu) is an effective way to promote upcoming campus events. If you have news or events with campus–wide interest, we can help spread the word. To make a request, please send an email to the myUFL Suggestion Box in the portal (in upper right–hand corner after signing on). Provide the date and time, associated Web sites, draft text or press release (if available). Due to high demand, we recommend at least two weeks’ notice, especially for time–sensitive events.
PAYMENT APPLICATION DEFAULT ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED. This past weekend, Bridges resolved the problem with automatic defaults while trying to apply payments. All employees with the role UF_CR_AR_CASHIER, and responsible for payment application through the following navigation: Account Receivables > Payment > Apply Payments > Create Worksheet should now be able to complete their transactions with the appropriate results.
NEW INSTRUCTION GUIDES. Two new instruction guides are available this week on the Bridges Web site on the Instruction Guides page:
- Enterprise Learning > Register for Training and Development Courses (Updated)
- Enterprise Learning > Register Your Employees for Training (New)
