The University of Florida is committed to keeping you informed as we continue our transition to the new myUFL systems. To help you with the transition, each week you will receive a Bridges Advisory.

JULY 2005 PROJECT AND DEPARTMENT REPORTS NOW AVAILABLE. The July 2005 department and project reports are now available in Enterprise Reporting. To view the delivered PDF reports, first click on Project Reports or Department Reports. Select your college or unit and department. For project reports, select the PI and then the Project.

The Department Summary Expense reports for July 2005 are incorrect and will be removed later today. They will be replaced soon with corrected reports.

These reports incorporate many of the suggestions sent in by UF faculty and staff, please let us know what you think of the changes by sending us a note via the myUFL Suggestion Box in the portal.

OPEN LABS STILL AVAILABLE AT BRIDGES. The Bridges Open Labs that began last year as a way to get one–on–one help with using the myUFL systems continues to operate on the Tuesday morning (8:30 am to 11:30 am) and Thursday afternoon (1:30 pm to 4:30 pm) schedule. No registration is required, but we do ask that participants be familiar with the system and have the appropriate user security roles in order to access the system. Open Lab sessions are held at UF Bridges’ Dodge Island training room at Union Street Station.

The Bridges Open Labs schedule, and other ways you may get assistance with using the myUFL systems, is located on the Bridges Web site under the Assistance section.

WHAT HAPPENS TO myUFL SUGGESTIONS? Over the past year, we have received nearly 500 suggestions from UF faculty, staff and students. Bridges looks and responds to all suggestions within one day in most cases. Some suggestions have resulted in improvements or enhancements to the myUFL systems. Next week alone we have nearly a dozen suggestions that will be implemented. Other suggestions are passed along to the appropriate Bridges team or core office. Some can be acted upon immediately, while others are filed away for future use. Many times a user just needs to be pointed in the right direction to material on the Web or to the Help Desk for assistance.

This past month, we averaged one suggestion per day and a wide range of topics. Suggestions included requests for single sign on access to additional applications (e.g., Webmail, Library Services, ISIS); changes to Purchasing, Training and Development, and Time and Labor modules and various reports; usability of or content in the portal; and, difficulty printing paycheck or changing password. Other suggestions were related to systems within the portal such as Download Class Rolls in the Admin Menu.

We welcome your input and the insight that only end users can provide. Please keep those suggestions coming.

PROPOSAL SEARCH PROVIDES QUICK RESULTS. This past weekend Bridges implemented an enhancement to the Grants module that greatly increases the speed of the proposal search process. The proposals search screens should be returning results within seconds; if not, please contact the UF Help Desk (392-HELP). As a general rule, if a task consistently takes much longer than usual or slows down over time, please contact the UF Help Desk or send a suggestion to the myUFL Suggestion Box so Bridges can investigate and fix the problem.

NEW INSTRUCTION GUIDES. Seven new instruction guides are available this week on the Bridges Web site:

NEW RESOURCES. One new resource is available this week on the Bridges Web site:
