   version Printable version

The University of Florida is committed to keeping you informed as we continue our transition to the new myUFL systems. To help you with the transition, each week you will receive a Bridges Advisory.

Note: There will not be an Advisory sent out next week. Please check the Alert Notices for any updates about the myUFL Systems.

PRINTER-FRIENDLY 'VIEW PAYCHECK'. It's here! A one-page, printable copy of the on-line earnings statement is now available in the portal. Navigate to View Paycheck via My Self Service > Payroll and Compensation and click on the "Printer Friendly Version" link. Note that many employees choose not to print and store a paper copy since these records are always available on-line in myUFL.

myUFL PORTAL AND SYSTEMS UNDERGOING SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE THIS WEEKEND. Due to scheduled maintenance this weekend, the myUFL portal and the systems accessible via the portal will not be available at times between 7:00 am, Saturday, April 2 and 3:00 pm, Sunday, April 3. The maintenance page will be posted and prevent users from accessing the portal while the actual work is ongoing. We anticipate the work to be completed and the maintenance page removed Saturday afternoon. While the portal will be accessible, users may experience slower than normal performance on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Bridges will be testing the system and running major batch processes that could not be run earlier due to this maintenance window.

As always, please do not contact the Help Desk if you encounter any problems during this maintenance window. In addition, we encourage everyone to monitor the Alert Notices for updated information about the scheduled maintenance prior to contacting the Help Desk.

DID NOT RECEIVE A STAFF SURVEY? If you are a TEAMS or USPS employee and did not receive a 2005 Staff Survey, your UF Business Mailing Address is wrong in the Directory. Please add or update your mailing address to ensure that you receive important campus mailings in the future. To view and modify your addresses in the UF Directory, navigate to:

  1. My Account > Update My Directory Profile.
  2. Click on the orange "Addresses and Phone Numbers" header.
  3. Select the UF Business Mailing Address.
  4. Click on the "Submit" button.
  5. Type your current Campus PO Box on the Delivery line (e.g., PO Box 100100).
  6. Click the "Submit" button.

For more details and step-by-step instructions, please read the "Update Your UF Business Mailing Address" guide.

DEPARTMENT MANAGERS/PAYROLL PROCESSORS: RETROACTIVE RE-DISTRIBUTION OF EARNINGS AND DEDUCTIONS FOR CHECKS WITH ADDITIONAL PAY IS AVAILABLE ON MONDAY, APRIL 4. The automated retro re-distribution processing will now process the regular earnings and deduction portions of a check, where there was additional pay associated with that check.  The regular earnings and deductions for that check will follow the account codes on a distribution where the funding sources were changed for that check.  The automated retro distribution processing will now also process earnings, deductions and taxes for jobs and distributions that have changed departments during the pay period.  Departments will begin seeing these items on Monday, April 4.

The actual additional pay earnings portion of the check will be able to be re-distributed using an on-line component beginning Monday, April 11.  Requests for additional pay earnings charges to be re-distributed will be coordinated with Mikki Hall of Finance and Accounting (392-1326 or mihall@ufl.edu). A new form, FA-GA-ADDPAY: Additional Pay Correction Request, will be available soon for this purpose. An Alert Notice will be posted when this form is available on the Finance and Accounting Web site.

Note: That the tax charges for a check with associated additional pay will not be able to have a retro transaction performed on the taxes at this time. This will be done in the second phase of this project.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ADDED TO THE UF_EX_ANALYST ROLE. Those with the UF_EX_ANALYST security role can now drill down to expense type details. Navigate to Travel and Expense > Travel Authorization > View > click "Search" button > Select transaction. The expense type (e.g., travel) will display as a hyperlink. Click on the hyperlink to drill down to view the details associated with the expense type. The "View Report Information" will also be displayed as a hyperlink, which allows one to drill down to see the Detail Default Accounting Information.

REMOVAL OF OLD WORKLIST ITEMS IN FINANCE. Last night Bridges made changes to the myUFL Financial systems that removed some old worklist items and improved the overall worklist functionality. This is project is ongoing and will continue for a few more weeks before all issues related to the worklist are resolved.

DSA TRAINING. Additional sessions of the mandatory training course for Department Security Administrators (DSAs) will be announced soon.

EFFORT TRACKING SYSTEM (FACULTY & PROFESSIONAL AND NON-ACADEMIC ACTIVITY REPORT) IN myUFL COMING VERY SOON. In early April, the University will launch the new Effort Tracking system in the myUFL portal. This new Effort Tracking system will replace the Faculty Activity Report and the Non-Academic Activity Report that were previously in NERDC.  The primary contacts will be contacted in the next few days by Alicia Fowler (Office of the Provost) and Grady Darden (Contracts & Grants Accounting Services) regarding training and the necessary user security roles.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email Alicia Fowler (afowler@ufl.edu) or Grady Darden (gcd@ufl.edu).
