The Business Manager is responsible for the budgetary, fiscal, HR, and facilities management needs of the 100+ staff of UF Bridges, the university's enterprise resource planning department. In addition to supervising two administrative staff, the Business Manager oversees the work of the department's network administration and internal and external communication staff. Extensive background in UF financial systems and business processes is required, as is the ability to work and communicate with university business offices, vendors, technically diverse staff, and consultants.
The Business Manager reports to the Interim Director, UF Bridges.
Roles and Responsibilities of the Business Manager:
A general breakdown of the responsibilities of the position and percentage of time devoted to each area is as follows:
1. (10%) Assists in the direction of the business and financial/auxiliary services functions. Functions as the Director in his absence, as required.
2. (10%) Assists in ensuring that goals and objectives for the department and the university are communicated and achieved.
3. (15%) Responsible for any and all departmental operations, including network and workstation support.
4. (20%) Responsible for fiscal, personnel, purchasing, and other administrative functions for the department.
5. (15%) Formulates and implements fiscal policies and procedures for the department. Assists in short and long range planning.
6. (15%) Coordinates and prepares legislative and operating budgets, and reviews expenditures for budgetary control. Controls receipt
and/or disbursement of funds to and from the department.
7. (15%) Assists in the planning, negotiation, preparation, and administration of contracts. Prepares or supervises
the preparation of required financial statements and reports. Makes presentations regarding the financial status of the Department.

Position: Business Intelligence Warehouse Developer (IT Expert)

Roles and Responsibilities of the Business Intelligence Warehouse Developer (IT Expert):
This Business Intelligence Warehouse Developer position (payroll classification title: IT Expert) is located in UF Bridges, the University of Florida department dedicated to improving UF's business processes by implementing and maintaining Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). This position reports to the Business Intelligence Development Manager.
The Business Intelligence Warehouse Developer actively participates in the following areas of warehouse development:
1. Prepares conceptual, logical, and physical design of Business Intelligence (BI) Warehouse and Reporting solutions that adhere
to industry and software development standards.
2.Implements design resulting in Data Models, Reports, Queries, or ETLs meeting business requirements, including
documentation of such objects. Development will include but not be limited to Cognos 8 Reports, Queries,
and Framework Manager Data Models; Informatica and DataStage ETLs; and PeopleSoft EPM Metadata.
3. Builds BI content based on end user requirements, including reports, dashboards, business query layer
(for ad hoc queries) and other BI content.
4. Tests applications to ensure valid implementation in accord with business requirements,
including construction of test scripts and documentation of testing results.
5. Supports the user community for the business processes in the Warehouse and Reporting systems.
6. Collaborates with BI Team members to design and develop new enterprise Data Warehouse (DW) and BI solutions.
7. Utilizes strong SQL coding abilities, including experience optimizing query performance
within a BI Tool and on Oracle databases to deliver maximum performance to the end user when interacting with BI content.
8. Builds OLAP cubes and creates BI deliverables that take advantage of OLAP capabilities. Experience with MDX is preferred.
A general percentage breakdown of the position is as follows:
1. (50%) Implementation (followed by documentation) of software design, so that university systems meet current business requirements.
2. (10%) Design BI Warehouse and Reporting content.
3. (15%) Test software systems to ensure valid implementation in accord with business requirements, including construction
of test scripts and documentation of testing results.
4. (20%) Support the university's BI user community with excellent and proactive customer service.
5. (5%) Develop new skill-sets and abilities as needed, when new tools and software platforms become available.
